Thomas Carrero, Jr. was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Central High School in Philadelphia where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in lieu of a high school diploma (Central High School at that time was only one of two high schools in the United States that awarded such a degree). Following graduation from Central High School, Attorney Carrero attended Drexel University in Philadelphia where he received a five-year Bachelor of Science in Business in only four years. While at Drexel, Attorney Carrero made the Dean's List five times.
Following graduation from Drexel University, Attorney Carrero attended Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia where he graduated Cum Laude with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. While at Temple, Attorney Carrero made the Dean's Honor List five times and received a Best Paper Award twice.
Following graduation from Temple University, Attorney Carrero attended the University of Miami School of Law on a scholarship where he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Ocean and Coastal Management. While at Miami, Attorney Carrero authored a Master's Thesis analyzing personal injury and death cases that pertained to operating personal watercraft.
Attorney Carrero subsequently took the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Exams, passing both on his first try and in the same year. The following year, while working as a practicing lawyer, Attorney Carrero took the Florida Bar Exam, again passing on his first attempt.
Throughout school, Attorney Carrero worked in the public sector for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas as a clerk, first in the Family Court division and then in the Criminal division.
Before starting his own firm, Attorney Carrero worked in the private sector as a transactional attorney and then as a trial attorney, both for Philadelphia law firms and while also serving as a certified Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Attorney Carrero eventually became the Managing Associate of a Philadelphia law firm before opening his own firm and moving to Florida.
Attorney Carrero is and has been involved in several social and charitable organizations, including MENSA, local and state Bar organizations, the Humane Society (former regional coordinator), and the Sons of Italy (as an elected officer).
